The Brow Lamination Process

The Process

  1. 1

    Consultation & Mapping

We assess your natural brow hair direction, density, and desired style—whether you want a soft natural lift or bold brushed-up look. Brow shaping (waxing/threading) happens first if needed.

  2. 2

    Lift & Set Application

A gentle keratin-based lifting cream is applied to break down hair bonds, allowing us to brush hairs upward into your ideal shape. A setting solution locks them in place for weeks of low-maintenance styling.

  3. 3

    Tint & Nourish

Optional tinting adds depth and definition. We finish with a conditioning serum to prevent dryness and keep brows healthy. You walk out with instantly fuller, groomed brows—no daily gel required.

Brow lamination is the gateway drug to permanent makeup. Clients come in wanting that fluffy, soap brow look they see on Instagram—and lamination delivers it instantly. But here’s what happens: after 6–8 weeks of waking up with perfect brows, they realize they never want to go back to filling them in daily. That’s when they’re ready for Nano Brows. The beauty of lamination is it lets you test-drive a bold brow shape with zero commitment. If you love it, we can make it permanent. If you want to tweak the shape or density, we adjust before tattooing. And here’s the truth most studios won’t tell you: lamination works best on people who already have decent brow hair. If your brows are sparse, over-plucked, or patchy, lamination can only do so much. That’s when Nano Brows or Powder Brows become the better investment.

Common Questions

Quick answers about what to expect from brow lamination, how it compares to permanent options, and whether it’s right for your brows.

How long does brow lamination last?

Results last 4–8 weeks depending on your hair growth cycle and aftercare. As your natural brow hairs grow out and shed, the treatment gradually fades. You’ll need touch-ups every 6–8 weeks to maintain the look.

What’s the difference between brow lamination and microblading?

Lamination lifts and sets your existing brow hairs for a fluffy, natural look—no needles or pigment. Microblading tattoos hair-like strokes into the skin for semi-permanent fullness. Lamination lasts 6–8 weeks; Microblading lasts 1–3 years. Nano Brows last even longer and work better on oily skin.

Does brow lamination hurt?

No. It’s completely painless and non-invasive. You’ll feel solutions being applied and brushed through, but there are no needles, cutting, or discomfort. Most clients find it relaxing—like a spa treatment for your brows.

Can I get brow lamination if I have Microblading or Nano Brows?

Yes! Lamination can be done over healed permanent makeup to add extra lift and fullness. Wait at least 4–6 weeks after your PMU touch-up before laminating. Lamination won’t affect your pigment but can enhance the overall look.

What’s the aftercare for brow lamination?

Keep brows dry for 24 hours—no washing, sweating, steam, or makeup on the brow area. Avoid swimming, saunas, and heavy workouts for 48 hours. After 24 hours, apply castor oil or brow serum daily and brush into place with a spoolie after showering.

Will brow lamination damage my natural brows?

Not when done properly and not repeated too frequently. The chemical solution temporarily breaks down hair bonds (like a perm), so over-laminating (more than every 6 weeks) can cause dryness and breakage. We condition brows during treatment to minimize damage.

How much does brow lamination cost in Boston?

Our brow lamination costs $95–$115 depending on whether you add tinting and shaping. That’s significantly more affordable than Microblading ($500–$700) or Nano Brows ($600–$1200), making it a great way to test a bold brow look before committing to permanent PMU.
